Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information Wardhour collects through this website, the beta sign-up form and the emails we send to companies, and what your rights are. It does not cover the Wardhour service itself, which will have its own terms.
Who we are
Wardhour is run by İlker Halican, an individual based in Istanbul, Türkiye. We are the controller of the information described here. Contact us at hello@wardhour.com.
What we collect
When you sign up for the beta
Your name, work email address, company, role, what your company makes, roughly how many products it has on the EU market, where you're based, and anything you choose to write in the message box.
Business contact details from public sources
To find companies that might want Wardhour, we collect business contact details that companies publish themselves: the company name, its general email address, its website, its country, and where we found it, such as a trade-show exhibitor list, the company's own website or Companies House. These are mostly general addresses such as info@ or sales@.
When you email us
Your name, email address and what you write.
When you visit the website
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use this information to tell makers of connected products about Wardhour, to run the beta, and to reply to you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: introducing a service that is relevant to your work, and running a small beta with the people who join it. You can object at any time, and we will stop.
Every email we send says who we are and how to opt out. If you reply "no thanks" or ask us to stop, we will not contact you again. We keep a short note of your email address only so that we don't contact you by mistake.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores beta sign-ups.
- Google provides our email (Google Workspace).
We don't sell your information or share it with anyone else for their own marketing.
International transfers
Wardhour is run from Türkiye, and Cloudflare and Google process data in several countries. When information leaves the UK or the EU, it is protected by our providers' standard data protection terms for such transfers.
How long we keep it
- Business contact details: up to 12 months after our last contact with you, or straight away if you ask.
- Beta sign-ups and emails: for the beta and up to 12 months after it ends, unless you become a customer.
- Opt-out notes: for as long as we contact companies, so we keep respecting your choice.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or move it elsewhere. You can object to us using it at any time, including for direct marketing. Email hello@wardhour.com and we will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK at ico.org.uk, or to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
